Finding Light in a Sea of Darkness

By

Working through the dark with little light,
it feels like there’s no end in sight.
“Just a bit more,” you say,
hoping it’s true today.
No one to hold your hand,
only vast, empty land.
Hope for finding light is paper-thin
as a teardrop falls from my chin.
“Just smile, it’s going to be okay,”
“This feeling will pass someday.”
No one sees the pain,
the exhaustion and strain.
I will find the light one day;
I hope this is the right way.
If someone hears me cry,
help me out, don’t just walk by.
I am in this darkness alone;
a place where I have called home.
Help me out and let me free;
bring me to the light where I can see.
